About Rocking Adventures

Rocking Adventures is a Colorado nonprofit that turns curiosity into hands-on earth science learning. Founded in 2021 by two children with help from their father, the organization invites young people to explore rocks, minerals, prospecting, and creativity through memorable real-world experiences.

Our mission

Learning through discovery

We help local youth connect with geology, mining history, mineral collecting, lapidary work, and jewelry making through engaging programs that feel adventurous, approachable, and fun.

From classroom visits and community events to guided digs and seasonal outreach, every experience is designed to spark wonder, build confidence, and make science feel personal.

Our story

Built by family and community

Rocking Adventures began with a simple idea: a love of rocks and exploration could become a way to serve other children. What started as a family passion grew into a nonprofit focused on giving local youth meaningful, hands-on learning experiences rooted in Coloradoโ€™s natural landscape.

With support from their father, Stefan Ciuk, the young founders turned their excitement for prospecting, minerals, and outdoor discovery into programs that welcome schools, families, and community groups. The result is a mission-driven organization where education feels active, creative, and connected to the real world.

We want young people to experience the joy of discovery, learn by doing, and see that their own curiosity can lead to something meaningful.

Stefan Ciuk, Executive Director

Today, Rocking Adventures continues to grow through classroom demonstrations, field-based experiences, community events, and an annual Christmas program that has served thousands of underserved youth since 2022.
