About
Meet the Founders
Rocking Adventures began in 2021 when two children turned their love of rocks, mining, and discovery into a way to serve other young people. With guidance from their father, Stefan Ciuk, that family passion grew into a Colorado nonprofit focused on hands-on earth science education.
Our Story
A family-built nonprofit
What started as a shared curiosity about geology and prospecting became a mission to help local youth learn through touch, exploration, and real-world discovery. Rocking Adventures was founded to make earth science feel exciting, approachable, and memorable for children across the community.
Today, the organization brings hands-on demonstrations, field trips, gemstone activities, jewelry making, and community events to young learners in Colorado while keeping the spirit of curiosity at the center of every experience.
Stefan Ciuk
Stefan Ciuk helped found Rocking Adventures with his sons and serves as Chairperson of the Board and Executive Director. He brings more than 30 years of community service centered on children in education and athletics, including teaching mathematics, coaching teams, mentoring teachers, leading student organizations, and serving as a Scoutmaster. He is known to students as Mr. Rockman.
Impact
Built to inspire young explorers
The founders created Rocking Adventures to open doors for children who learn best by doing. Every program is designed to spark wonder, build confidence, and connect science to real experiences.
That same spirit shapes the nonprofitโs outreach, from classroom visits and guided digs to community events and creative mineral-based activities that invite families to learn together.
Since 2022, the Christmas program alone has served 5,000 underserved youth, reflecting the foundersโ commitment to practical support and joyful community engagement.
